Job Description



Lead clinical strategy, medical oversight, and quality performance across a multidisciplinary healthcare operation supporting U.S. government personnel in Iraq. This Chief Medical Officer role combines executive clinical leadership with hands-on patient care responsibilities, guiding experienced physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing teams, behavioral health professionals, and allied healthcare staff across primary care, urgent care, and emergency response services.

Working closely with operational leadership and clinical teams, this position helps strengthen patient safety, continuity of care, clinical standards, and healthcare delivery across a complex international practice setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for multidisciplinary healthcare teams across primary care, urgent care, and emergency response services.
• Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, behavioral health, pharmacy, laboratory, and operational teams to support high-quality, patient-centered care delivery.
• Guide clinical quality initiatives, health promotion efforts, disease prevention programs, and evidence-based care practices across the project.
• Participate in patient assessment, stabilization, and urgent clinical decision-making while supporting coordinated care across diverse clinical specialties.

Qualifications



Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school with Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine.
  • Active unrestricted U.S. physician license with current BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications.
  • 5+ years of recent physician leadership and clinical experience, including recent patient care within the past year.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with a valid passport.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT security clearance and meet pre-deployment physical requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams within complex clinical environments.
  • Prior experience supporting military, government, or international healthcare operations.
  • Experience practicing in remote, operational, or high-acuity care settings.
