Anticipated Interview Dates: We anticipate holding in-person interviews beginning the week of October 5, 2026.

California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) seeks a highly motivated Fraud Prevention Analyst (Information Technology Specialist II) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fraud detection and prevention techniques, as well as experience with data analysis, auditing, and reporting. The Fraud Prevention Analyst will be responsible for investigating and resolving fraud cases, as well as developing and implementing new fraud prevention strategies.

Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Working Conditions

  • This position is designated as office-centered and works primarily onsite at the Sacramento, CA -Headquarters at least three weekdays.
  • Workstation is located in a standard multi-level office building accessible by stairs and elevator, with artificial light, height-adjustable desk, and adjustable office chair.
  • Prolonged reading and typing on a laptop or keyboard and monitor.

• Experience with data analysis, auditing, and reporting.
• Experience investigating and resolving fraud cases.
• Experience with information security frameworks.
• Knowledge of and/or experience working with programs such as OneTrust Case Management, Splunk Enterprise Security, Splunk App for Fraud Analytics, California Compliance and Security Incident Reporting System (Cal-CSIRS), Power Business Intelligence (BI), and/or Tableau.
