Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist leads the hiring and onboarding process for InterChange companies. This role attracts qualified candidates, creates a positive candidate experience, coordinates hiring activities, and helps new Team Members successfully transition into the organization.

Reports To: HR Manager

Location: Harrisonburg

Position Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm *Occasional weekends, On-Call, Travel, Overtime*

Compensation: $60,000 to $70,000 annually

Core Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Recruiting

• Manage full-cycle recruitment from job posting through offer acceptance.
• Source and screen candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and community partnerships.
• Coordinate interviews and partner with hiring managers to fill open positions.
• Maintain timely candidate communication throughout the hiring process.
• Coordinate background checks and other pre-employment requirements.
• Represent the company at job fairs and recruiting events.

Onboarding

• Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
• Initiate new hire setup within HR systems.
• Ensure completion of onboarding documentation and employment verification requirements.
• Facilitate orientation and review company policies and benefits.
• Partner with managers to support a successful onboarding experience.

Qualifications:

• Experience in recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or human resources preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with HRIS or applicant tracking systems.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Specialized Skills & Knowledge:

• Must be a “self-starter” and able to work with minimum direct supervision
• Strong organizational skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to remain flexible in work assignments and to shift work priorities as necessary to meet reporting deadlines
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

• Microsoft Office, Rippling HRIS
