Sr. Full Stack Engineer

Location: Pasadena, CA Local Candidates Only

Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 Days/Week Onsite

Experience: 12+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer with strong hands-on Java development expertise and secondary Python experience. This is primarily a backend/application development role , with approximately 90% of the work focused on backend engineering . Extensive UI development experience is not required.

The ideal candidate is a strong Java engineer with expertise in Spring Boot, API development, code reviews, engineering automation, and modern AI-assisted software development practices .

Candidates should have practical experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar platforms as part of their day-to-day development workflow. Experience with Agentic AI and AI-driven development workflows is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise Java applications and backend services.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring Boot .
• Participate actively in code reviews , ensuring code quality, maintainability, security, and best practices.
• Apply modern software engineering practices to improve development productivity and automation.
• Incorporate AI-assisted coding tools into daily development workflows.
• Explore and implement AI-driven and Agentic AI development approaches where appropriate.
• Develop automation scripts and supporting applications using Python .
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and business stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, and engineering standards.
• Write clean, scalable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Support continuous improvement of development processes and engineering automation.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java .
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and REST/API development.
• Solid experience in backend/application development and enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and coding best practices.
• Experience conducting and participating in code reviews .
• Practical experience with AI-assisted coding and developer productivity tools , such as:
  • Claude Code
  • GitHub Copilot
  • Cursor
  • Similar AI-powered development tools
• Experience with Python for scripting, automation, or application development.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
